Theme security question

Hi,
Yesterday 3 of my WordPress sites were compromised. Someone managed to get to the Dashboard and replace the site names with “Hacked by Mr.XaaD”, and on one site they made a few changes to headers and footers.
For themes, the sites use “Virtue Premium,” “Pinnacle Premium” and “Virtue.” All sites are at WP 4.7.5, all plugins were up to date as of early yesterday and whilst two of the sites have some similar plugins, no plugins are used on all three. All admin passwords were randomly generated and strong. File editing is disabled in wp-config and directory listing is disabled in .htaccess.
Any insight as to how the person got in would be most appreciated.
