Replacement of Images

I have a product with 17 variations for which I created a product page and successfully set attributes, variations, colors and individual images. Everything worked fine. I elected to change out the images for other ones so I created 17 new images and named them identically to the first 17 so I could avoid having to go into the product page and re-link the images to their data. I first Deleted Permanently all of the first set of images from the server so it was devoid of duplicate image names and then uploaded the second set, but with the first set gone and the second set int their place, when the images finally appear in the media center, they’re the old images which I’d already removed. I don’t know if it’s a WooCommerce issue or a Virtue issue so I though I’d ask both places.
