Is there a shortcode for the img grid as used in widget?

Hi,

I saw the virtue image grid as displayed in the footer at *Login to see link below the “Recent Projects”. I want to use this layout, but not showing blog or portfolio content but some pages.

The pages all have a featured image. The pages are subpages, that is are children of another page. I do not have a problem of creating my own widget for the logic of deciding which pages are to be used.

I could then iterate over all these 6 chosen pages that I have and create the very html markup like the img grid widget does. So that the look and feel would be the same. But I would really prefer if there was some kind of shortcode (more future and upgrade safe) which I can hand over the IDs of the pages and the shortcode does create the html markup, e.g. something like

[kad_img_grid ids="1,2,3,4,5,6"]

Is there something?
