Home blog post not working properly

Hello
I’ve just made a clean install of wordpress and Virtue and am having difficult with blog posts on the home page. It is always displaying the author when I already changed it not to in blog settings. Furthermore the excerpt never seems to show, again this is regardless of it set to.
Any ideas?
