Disk and memory overload

Hi guys,
I recently found my server was redlining – disk usage 100% and maxing out memory. Luckily, I have a great hosting service that was able to kill the offending instances quickly, but they could not find anything sketchy in the access logs.
Would prefer to provide more details privately.
Just want to make sure it’s not a theme related issue and take some preventative action.
