Diffference in icon behaviour between Virtue and Ascend

Hi,
Is it me, or is there a difference in the way icons are displayed between Virtue and Ascend?
In Ascend, I use the following to show a phone handset:
<i class="kt-icon-phone" style="font-size:40px"></i>
Example here.
But in Virtue I found that doesn’t work and instead I need to use:
[icon icon=icon-phone size=40px color=#555]
Even then, I get a different icon.

Any thoughts what I’m doing wrong?
