Breadcrumbs suggestion

Just been playing around with breadcrumbs on Woocommerce pages for someone and she asked if I could include a ‘You are Here…’ label just before the crumbs.
I hardwired it within ‘span’ tags (and a class name so I could style it) into a copy of lib/breadcrumbs.php and put that in the child theme so a lot easier than expected.
But would it be a good idea to include this as an option in the preferences? (As you know I got caught out with not realising when main theme templates were updated and using old files in my child theme, so I prefer to keep child files to a minimum!)
