Animated Gif not playing

Hi
I’ve got an animated gif that needs to play on a page, but it’s not playing at all.
I’ve made the gif up to 1140 w x 654 h px
The site’s pages are all set up to full width.
I’ve removed the WP resized scr attribute in the text code and kept the image’s full size parameters.
Have inserted the image at actual (full) size.
any suggestions?
