Removing table grids

Hi,
I want to have a ‘transparent’ table with no grids. Using the ‘stripes’ style removes the grids, but sets a background color for each uneven row, so it only partially helps (I need the table to be completely transparent, text only).
As I see it there are two options to ‘fix’ this:
1. Change the background color of the columns in the ‘stripes’ style
2. Make the grids transparent
Any help will be appreciated ?
