Free shipping display problem

Hello there, I know this is not theme related, but stumped on finding out how to do it.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Some of our products have free shipping assigned through a class, works fine, however, with other shipping chargeable products at the cart, it’s not obvious that the free shipping item(s) have in fact not had shipping charged.
Just being able to say “Free Shipping” on the cart line item would be enough, but it seems that adding it to the product title is the only way, which I’d rather not do.
Any ideas please? thank you, John
