Image overlay transparent background

Hi,
I’m using the “image overlay” block to show a logo with a link and title. The logo is elliptical with a transparent fill for the unused part of the container. When I use the logo as a background for the image overlay block, the unused part of the container is filled in with grey. Is there a CSS instruction that will prevent this and make those areas transparent?
