Bulk Add a Featured Image to Blog Posts?

Hi, I’m updating a friend’s blog with Virtue and she has a LOT of blog posts in her archive. I just noticed that the blog archive/search/etc. isn’t showing a picture with the summary because her previous theme didn’t have a featured image. Is there a way to bulk assign the first image from every post to just be the featured image? I’m guessing there’s not, but figured why not try.
