Mailchimp Integration

Since the update to the theme I did yesterday i am unable to add the maichimp code to the footer.php section of the website. I have tried installing a ‘headers and footers plugin’ but it stops the images loading on the site. I can no longer save any amends to the footer.php code in wordpress.
Do you have any suggestion how i can get the pop up code to work below.
