Enable Search Bar in Top Header

We’d like to put the search icon in the top header on the left hand side of the ‘Contact Us’ link in the custom menu. We’ve enabled ‘Display Search in Topbar’, but it’s colored white (so you can’t see it) and positioned on the left side of the page. Is there a main color setting and a way to float it right in the theme options?
