Mobile menu stretches background image

One thing that could happen if you set a background for the header. When you open the mobile menu, that increases the size of the header thus forcing any background image to stretch and fill the area. See here about background image sizing: *Login to see link
Is it possible to stop this happening? In the case of the Primary menu, when that opens, it drops down over the top of any background as if it has a higher “z index”. In this situation, the background image doesn’t stretch.
Can the same be done for the mobile menu? Under the current settings for this site, when the mobile menu shows, it causes the background to stretch and it just doesn’t look right. I’d like the background to stay the same and the drop down to happen “over” the background below.
